A group of people were excited about going for a 30-kilometre walk to raise money for an important group.
Over 80 people walked from White Sands to Booderee National Park to raise money for SAHSSI (Supported Accommodation & Homelessness Services Shoalhaven Illawarra).
SAHSSI provides care, comfort and support to women and children in crisis situations.
The SAHSSI budget is tight and the group’s Shoalhaven manager Lesley Labka said they always try to find extra money.
She thanked all the walkers and in particular wanted to thank event organiser Jo Warren for all her efforts.
Already $10 000 is in the bank with the final amount yet to be tallied.
The walkers were made up of a diverse group of people - from Shoalhaven City Council, Australian Defence Force, St Georges Basin Public School, families, businesses and lots more.
People even came down from Wollongong to join in.
Groups like the Huskisson CWA and numerous volunteers also supported the walk.
