An easy to use digital marketplace, vennu launched this week.
Like Airbnb is for holiday homes, vennu is for finding community spaces for hire and it’s now available in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven.
Berry-based vennu, which held its official launch on Tuesday at the Sydney Startup Hub, received a $25,000 Minimum Viable Product grant from Jobs for NSW to develop its digital platform and run a pilot program.
Vennu showcases unique community spaces to hire for parties, community and religious gatherings, sports and exercise, corporate and work, retreats, adventures, pop-ups, performance and film/video production.
Vennu provides guests with a convenient connection to community spaces.
Guests automatically receive CGU vennu Liability Insurance Policy cover, which can provide cover for property damage or personal injury claims related to the venue hire.
The Vennu marketplace delivers an efficient way to promote, manage, operate and plan community facilities to turn lazy spaces into revenue for the good of the community.
There are more than 50 spaces available to hire on vennu.

CEO and Founder Suzanne Campbell launched vennu to help community members to access spaces more easily, and enable “asset-rich” organisations to increase their utilisation and returns.
“Our mobile-first platform, vennu, makes it easy for the owners of underused spaces to hire them out to make money and at the same time provide the community with access to an abundance of unique spaces for social functions, sports events and small business,” she said.
