The event will be held at the Berry School of Arts from Saturday August 18 to Sunday August 19 from 9.30am to 4pm at the Berry School of Arts. All proceeds from the event goes to Children’s Medical Research Institute’s Gerringong committee.
The exhibition will feature many interesting exhibitions within, including a display from United Kingdom's textile Artist Anne Kelly who has sent over her ‘Travel Tags – Moving Memories’ project.
Anne has curated this exhibition from artists around the world.
Some of Anne’s pieces will be on show along with works from a group of her Australian students from Anne’s teaching visit in 2017.
The exhibition will also include works by the tutors at this year’s Berry Quilting Retreat.
Susan Smith, Jessica Wheelahan, Shuji and Alison Yamazaki from Wabi-Sabi Designs Australia and Susan de Vanny will display works, while Dijanne Cevaal will be bringing her ‘Travellers’ Blankets and the ‘Aussie Bush’ project.
Jessica Wheelahan’s work has recently graced a catwalk in Paris in collaboration with @romancewasborn and Australian icon Jenny Kee.
The One Red Thread Textile art prize will be a feature as well as the Coastal Threads exhibition and Dessert Threads exhibition curated by Caroline Sharkey.
Within the exhibition hall there will be traders to tempt you, including Wabi-Sabi Designs, Reece Scannell Fabrics, Fabric Garden, Patchwork Plus, Nowra Sewing Essentials, Material Girls Downunder, Lissa de Sailles Beyond Basketry and Jennifer Wulff with her new book ‘Towns and Trailblazers’ and the quilt will also be on show.
Elizabeth Dubbelde, to continue the ‘War on Waste’ campaign will be hanging her ‘Waisted – Deconstructed/Reconstructed’ denim quilt made from jeans that would have ended up in landfill.
