The visitors were led by Jordan Matthews, who was playing his 100th match for the club, with seven goals, while Brent Herdman (four), Josh Laptha (three), Nick Mackey, Connor Clarke and Andrew Lee all kicked majors.
This victory capped off a strong day for the black and gold, as the women’s side extracted revenge on the only team who had defeated them in 2018, the Wollongong Saints.
Behind two goals from Sophie Phillips, the Tigers sent a message to the rest of the competition, by winning 5.6-36 to 1.0-6.
Other goal kickers for the Tigers were Bridgett Kellet, Maddison Pearson and Ashleigh Whittaker, in a game which saw Jaimi-Lee Gibbs make her debut for the club.
Unfortunately, the Tigers division three men’s side lost to the Ulladulla Dockers 7.8-50 to 5.5-35 on Friday night at the Ulladulla Sports Park.
In the loss, Christian Mills and Tobias Hanger both kicked two goals, with Matthew Barnes kicking the team’s fifth.
Crosstown rivals Nowra-Albatross had a mixed weekend of results, with the women defeating Ulladulla 3.8-26 to 1.1-7 while their men lost 9.8-62 to 4.5-29 to Kiama.
