The Vikings defeated the Ulladulla Dockers 3.8-26 to 1.1-7 on Saturday at West Street Oval and both teams put in willing efforts but the home side finished the stronger of the two.
Vikings’ leader Alanna Impson proved to be the difference between the two teams in this low scoring match and she kicked two vital goals.
Impson along with Rebekah Doyle, Christine Lakey, Carly Luxford and Zoe Gillespie were best on the ground for the Vikings.
Meanwhile, the Bomaderry Tigers easily accounted for the Wollongong Saints at North Dalton Park in their women’s division match.
The Tigers won 5.6-36 to 1.0-6 and the points for the Saints came in the last quarter of the match.
Jessica Liddiard, Sophie Phillips, Bridget Kellett, Jessica Thomas, Kristy Robson and Katie Bramley led the Tigers to victory.
The Bomaderry men also enjoyed the victory and handed the Wollongong Lions an 18.11-119 to 0.2-2 thrashing on Saturday at North Dalton Park
Jordan Matthews booted seven goals for the winners.
Bomaderry also kept its opponent scoreless in the second and fourth quarters.
Jack Boxsell, Joshua Lapatha, Blake Munilla, Brent Herdman, Tyler Dunstan and Matthews were best on the ground for the Tiger men.
The Nowra Albatross men could not keep the weekend’s perfect winning run for local teams going as they lost to 9.8-62 to 4.5-29 on Saturday at West Street Oval.
A 25 to nil blitz in the first quarter put Kiama in control of the match and the home side never recovered.
Mitchell Stahlhut, Grant Herron, Max Graham, Bradley Barnes and Andrew Allmark were best on the ground for the Vikings.
