The Tigers, in a low-scoring match, won 3.1-19 to 0.8-8.
If the Dockers had kicked straighter the home side could have lost its second match of the season.
The Tigers, in a rarity, were kept scoreless in the first and third quarters while the Dockers were full of running.
Two goals in the final quarter helped get the Tigers over the line.
Emma Dempsey, Bridget Kellett, Simone Hackett, Simone Seymour, Ellie Priest and Jessica Liddiard were best on the ground for the Tigers.
Meanwhile, the Nowra Albatross Vikings were no match for the Northern District Tigers at Hollymount Park.
The Northern Tigers won 10.16-76 to 1.0-6 in what was a great attacking effort.
Alexandra Hayden, Natalie Waters, Jaymee Polock, Grace Hughes, Elise Saeck and Alanna Impson were strong for the Vikings.
