The Culburra Beach couple will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on July 25.
Mr Harris (now 82) and Mrs Harris (nee Bartley now 77) first met when Jack, who was a racing cyclist, had a fall and was injured at Wiley Park Cycle Track.
After a couple of years going out together, mostly in Jack’s 1929 A Model Ford, they were married by Rev. Kingston at Church of England Church, Lakemba on July 25 1958.
They made their home in Greenacre and they had three children – Stephen, Geoffrey and Jennifer.
Now they have 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren with another expected soon.
Jack says that the secret of a long married life is mostly trusting your partner at all times and sharing activities.
Both were very active in the Lakemba Soccer Club when their children were young and later involved with the Callala Bay Golf Club as adults.
