The 14 girls team, which contain South Coast products Millicent Eyland, Abby Crapp and Chloe Hain, Charlotte Hampshire and Ella Hewson and Poppy Tay, remain undefeated after Wednesday’s third day of action.
The early game saw NSW Country take on Capital Football, with the Canberra based side racing out to a 2-nil lead after 10 minutes.
This sprung the Country girls into action, with Ella Hewson scoring her first goal for NSW from outside the 18 yard box and over the keeper.
Poppy Tay then evened the score with a strike that from out wide.
Poppy scored her fifth goal in three games early in the second half to see NSW hit the front 3-2.
However in the dying minutes, ex-Southern Branch player Charli Mitchel scored for Capital Football to even the scores 3-all.
A gutsy effort from the girls to show great spirit and resilience to remain undefeated.
Unfortunately, the 15 girls NSW Country side, featuring four Shoalhaven players; goalkeeper Tara Bailey, defenders Jasmine Tan and Casey Johnson and attacking midfielder Bronte Wright, as well as Southern Branch’s Luella Boulton, weren’t as lucky in their match against NSW Metro White.
The Country side dominated every aspect of the game in the first half with a strong Metro backline under continuous pressure and the keeper kept very busy.
Luella Boulton played strongly in her defensive midfield role, continually dominating her opposite number.
Country was just unable to get the ball over the line, and the half-time score of nil-all flattered the Metro side.
A fired up Metro side came at the Country early in the second half, with Casey Johnson and Jasmine Tan strong in defence continuously turning defence into attack
However Metro NSW rewarded with a lucky goal for their persistence.
Country resumed its domination of the Metro side, with opportunity after opportunity desperately defended by the NSW metro defence.
Despite their best efforts, the clock beat the girls with Metro holding on for a 1-nil victory.
