Trevor Wyatt Elwood, 20, allegedly dragged a 60-year-old woman from her car outside the Enoggera barracks earlier this month, and also allegedly assaulted an off-duty police officer who tried to intervene.
He'll travel to a Darwin army base at the end of this month but was ordered in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday not to leave the country, and will travel back to Brisbane for his next appearance on August 8.
