Coming into the game eager to complete the league double over their West Yorkshire rivals, after a close and hard fought contest in the reverse fixture, the Wolfpack turned in a dominant attacking display to notch up another comprehensive win.

Toronto have been focusing on lifting their performances in preparation for the ‘Super 8’s – The Qualifiers’ and this was evident throughout the game.

The Wolfpack built up a commanding 30 point lead by half-time and rarely took their foot off the gas; running in twelve well constructed tries in total to condemn Batley to their eighth straight defeat.

Batley competed hard and enjoyed a spell of ascendancy just after half time but the Pack’s defence was largely impressive against some free flowing and confident attack from the visitors.

In the end, the Canadian side had too much speed and power and hit Batley with four late tries to blow out the score line and maintain their unbeaten record at home with only two regular season games remaining.

Toronto halfback Ryan Brierley was satisfied with another commanding performance from his side but highlighted areas for improvement moving forward. 

“We know that we are going to have some tougher tests at the end of the year so there are things to work on from our second half performance,” Brierley said.

“We’re please with the win and it’s been a great day for the fans to come out and support heritage day and we gave them what they wanted but we know we can still get better.”

The Wolfpack next face the Rochdale Hornets on Saturday, July 28 at Lamport Stadium.
