Shoalhaven Heads Bushido Judo Club members participated in gaining their grade in the sport of judo recently and the standard was quite high. All 22 members were successful, a great result from the efforts put in by the coaches to get these students to a higher level.

The coaches responsible for such a high standard are Bruce Fagan 5th dan black belt, Darren Fagan 3rd dan black belt, Danny Fagan 3rd dan black belt, Hiromi Fagan 3rd dan black belt, Ken Murphy 2nd dan black belt, George Lappin 1st dan black belt, Casey Duggan 1st dan black belt, Elisha Gilmore 1st dan black belt, Daniel Fagan 2nd kyu blue belt and Taylor Fagan 2nd kyu blue belt.
Succesful members were Mako Sullivan and Azumi Lambert Yellow/white belt. Kai Fagan, Beau Smith, Yettie Lam (senior), Sivina Lam, Maleia Lam, and Jessica Wales Yellow belt. Sean Prinsloo, Levi O’Reilly, Sena Fagan, Mikaela Monkerud, Mia Monkerud, William Turley, Edward Turley, Arbi Francis, Cain Doosey, and Michelle Sullivan (senior) Orange belt. Sophia Fagan, Huon Last, Mike Hall (senior) and Adrian Turley (senior) Green belt.
On August 19 the Judo State Titles will be held at Shoalhaven Community Centre, organised and run by the newly formed New South Wales Kodokan Association. In September/October the next Open Australian Judo Titles are to be held at the Bomaderry Basketball Centre, with Judo competitors from NSW, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Northern Territory and WA to attend.
