The Braidwood based trainer won the 1200m benchmark 65 handicap, with Sheoak – jockeyed by Akira Kajiya, before claiming the 1600m benchmark 55 handicap, with Striking Lago – ridden by Nick Heywood.
Nowra based trainer Richard Butler took full advantage of the local knowledge, claiming the win in the 1200m benchmark 57 handicap with Fruitful Warrior, from Tony Sergi’s Silver Comet and Gary Portelli’s Cash Strapped.
Blind Love, trained by Shoalhaven’s Robert and Luke Price finished second to Sarah Murray-Leslie’s Blue Fiasco in the 1100m maiden handicap.
Other winners on the day were Matthew Smith’s Moralist (1100m class one handicap), Theresa Bateup’s Zariz Alwyns (1400m class three handicap) and Bill Prain’s Pass of Gold (1400m maiden plate).
