The two males, aged 17 and 16, from the South Coast, were allegedly armed with a pistol and knives during the robbery at the Broulee Supermarket and Cellars, around 5.45pm on July 4.
The pair appeared before Magistrate David Williams in Nowra on Thursday afternoon via audio visual link.
Court papers revealed the 16-year-old, who was allegedly armed with a black pistol and a large knife, pointed the firearm at the male attendant during the robbery demanding “money” before stealing cash and alcohol.
Court papers said the 17-year-old was also armed with a knife during the incident.
Police said the pair made off with $220 cash and a six pack of Jack Daniels and Coke.
Officers from South Coast Police District established a crime scene and started an investigation.
Despite police calling in the fixed air wing and a police dog to help in the search, the youths managed to evade police until after 8pm.
The 16-year-old allegedly knocked on the door of a house in Clarke Street, asking to use the phone.
The home owner rang police and for the next half an hour it is alleged the youth trespassed on a number of residential properties while evading arrest.
He was finally arrested by the police dog handler in Headley Way.
The 17-year-old was also arrested nearby.
Court papers revealed the 17-year-old had allegedly been involved in an attempted armed robbery the day before (July 3) at the Woolworths Caltex Service Station at Moruya.
Police said the youth, accompanied by a second unidentified person, entered the service station around 6.47pm armed with a pistol demanding money, but fled empty handed after the console operator activated duress alarms.
The 17-year-old has been charged with attempted robbery while armed with dangerous weapon and robbery armed with offensive weapon and the 16-year-old has been charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon.
In court they did not apply for bail which Magistrate Williams formally refused. They will reappear in Batemans Bay Children's Court on August 27.
