The Salvos use the money made at the store to help people in many ways from its various community based programs.
The store, in response to increased demand from the local community, was revamped and expanded recently.
Salvos Stores Area Manager Philip Wahba said the store raised vital funds.
“We remind the community that Salvos Stores provides a vital service to the local area,” he said.
“All profits from Salvos Stores go towards running vital Salvation Army programs, which assist the less fortunate.”
The store was reopened on Thursday, June 21 and people were waiting at the door to get in and shop for bargains.
Over 10,000 recycled garments, furniture pieces, household items, books and lots more are on sale.
The store, located at 1/182 Princess Highway South Nowra, now has an even wider range of preloved and recycled furniture, clothing and other household items on sale at bargain prices.
There is also more toiletries, cleaning products and other new household goods.
The store also helps the environment.
“By shopping at and donating to Salvos Stores, our customers and donors are also helping the environment by recycling their no longer required furniture, clothing and other items,” Mr Wahba said.
“We continue to work closely with governments at all levels in developing sustainability programs which help reduce landfill.”
Mr Wahba said the South Nowra Store had great staff and volunteers.
“Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers have been working overtime to get the store ready for this grand opening and I thank them for their commitment and efforts,” he said.
