Matthew Malone has applied to construct the eight, container style tourist cabins, in Larmer Avenue.
The development, valued at $170,000, will see the relocatable holiday cabins to the rear of the property at 158 Larmer Avenue, with car parking at the front.
The property is located on the eastern side of Larmer Avenue and has an area of 714 square metres.
The land is virtually flat with a slight grade away from the road, is not vegetated and is zoned SP3 Tourist under the provisions of Shoalhaven Local Environmental Plan 2014.
Mr Malone’s application says the proposed development is considered to have a positive impact by adding to the tourist accommodation stock within the Sanctuary Point area, in an established area that is appropriately serviced for tourist use without significantly impacting on the natural assets of the area.
The application says the proposal would provide an economic boost during construction and ongoing benefits from increased numbers of people consuming and utilising a range of local businesses for their needs.
It will not be a staged development, with all cabins and associated infrastructure to be built at once.
The proposal also includes a manager’s office and residence, which will be the same appearance as the other cabins.
The proposed cabins are a studio type with one car parking space provided per cabin plus a parking space for the manager, however two car parking spaces would be provided where there are two or more bedrooms per cabin.
