Both clubs, now competing as the Nowra/Albatross Vikings, were founded in 1968 along with Creswell and Wollongong Lions – a league which became the Leisure Coast League before becoming the AFLSC competition it is today.
“The weekend will kick-off on Saturday, June 9 from lunchtime, where all members past and present can experience the new facilities we have at Tom Smith Oval,” Albatross legend Duane Unwin said.
“From there, we will head to a function at the Bomaderry RSL, which will get underway at 6.30pm.”
These will be followed by a recovery breakfast at West Street Oval.
“We are encouraging past players, committee members and supporters from throughout the league to attend the celebrations,” Blues legend Joe Tatnell said.
During its existence, Albatross has won 13 first grade and five reserve grade premierships and has won eight Tunbridge medals (Greg Perry (two), Adam Harris (two), Terry Menadue, Billy McBride, Brent Milner and Matt Ryan).
While Nowra has won nine first grade and five reserve grade titles, plus five Tunbridges (Glen Taylor (two), Frank Garside, Dallas Gallagher, Rob Meyers and Michael Pelda).
