The closure – from 7pm on Saturday to 9am on Sunday – is to allow the removal of platforms under the pedestrian bridge linking Nan Tien Temple with the Nan Tien Institute.
Work on the pedestrian bridge is almost finished.
During the closure, vehicles will be detoured via Five Islands Road, the Princes Highway through Unanderra and Northcliffe Drive.

This detour will add around five minutes to travel times.
Motorists can also detour via King Street at Warrawong and Northcliffe Drive.
After traffic barriers and platforms are removed, all lanes of the M1 at this location will reopen to traffic in both directions and the 100km/h speed limit reinstated.
If work is delayed, it will take place on the following weekend at the same times.
