Former Sudmalis staffer and local media personality Adam Straney is looking into the prospect of throwing his hat into the ring.
Nominations close on Friday, and the 2ST host said he will make his decision by Wednesday.
Meanwhile, it has been confirmed real estate agent Grant Schultz will compete with sitting member Ann Sudmalis for preselection.
Mr Schultz’ Facebook page has been inundated with messages of support from friends.
“It won’t be easy and won’t be pretty, but I’m there,” he said, thanking his supporters.
His quiet campaign has gained national attention, and already there has been some mud-slinging.
A Daily Telegraph article on Sunday brought his character into question.
Mr Schultz slammed the article as fake news, and said the reporter had dismissed facts from court records.
There is speculation Kiama MP Gareth Ward’s former staffer and local lawyer Paul Ell will also contest, but Fairfax Media has been unable to verify reports.
