The federal government is looking very closely at Gilmore MP Ann Sudmalis’ plea for $1.28b funding to upgrade the Princes Highway south of Nowra.

Earlier this week Mrs Sudmalis wrote to the Deputy Prime Minister and federal Infrastructure Minister Michael McCormack, asking that $1.28 billion in unallocated road funding be directed towards upgrading the Princes Highway between Nowra and Ulladulla.

“We are looking very closely at that request,” said Treasurer Scott Morrison while in Nowra on Thursday.

Fairfax Media’s FIX IT NOW campaign, pushing for significant safety improvements to the Princes Highway, was launched across South Coast newspapers in March.
