Strong efforts from Lucas, Jarrell and Patrick weren’t enough to stop the Magpies finishing strong to win 34-24. Special mention to player of the game Callum, who put his body on the line all day.
U10
The Under 10s played exceptionally well in the rain at Albion Park. Culburra got up 34-20 in a great game. All team members can be commended for their effort. Some terrific tries were scored.
U14
The 14s played Corrimal at home in pouring rain, scoring first through Sam Colgate. The boys controlled the slippery ball better and some nice footwork allowed Jarred Omoeboh to score in the corner. Colgate converted both goals and a penalty right on half-time for a 14-nil lead. Corrimal scored first in the second half but this seemed to lift Culburra, who played the last 10 minutes on the Cougars’ try line.
After being held up a couple of times, the Dolphins put the game away when Colgate bagged his second try and Jerramiah Welsh converted to make it a 20-4 win. Big games were put in by Kobe O'Connor, Aiden Rowley and Jack Lonesborough.
U16
U16s took on Warilla on Saturday in tough conditions with Culburra holding on to win, 34-14. Jayden Brody had three tries.
