What was once a water-logged site due to a nearby waterway has been upgraded to allow kids to play after a rainy day.
There were a number of kids from the nearby community playing at the Pacific City Park at Bayswood on Tuesday, its official opening.
“Every time it rained, kids got would get their feet wet for days later,” Shoalhaven mayor Amanda Findley said.
“It is wonderful to see the new playground finished and we welcome the young and old to enjoy playtime in the new surroundings.”
The new playground has been built on higher ground, with an above-ground concrete edge and drainage to prevent water pooling.
The total cost of the project was $109,944.
