Emergency services were called to the Archer Racecourse, off Albatross Road, about 4.20pm.
Four NSW Ambulance units and a rescue helicopter responded to the scene.
A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said a man suffered full thickness burns to about 13 per cent of his body.
It is understood the burns were to the man’s face.
Initial reports suggest the injuries were sustained during a gas explosion.
He was taken by road ambulance to Shoalhaven Hospital, where he will be loaded into the helicopter and flown to Sydney’s Royal North Shore Hospital for further treatment.
