Officers from Strike Force Eckersley, set up in 2016 to investigate complaints referred by the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse about the sexual assault of children at the Daruk Training School between 1965 and 1985, travelled to Basin View on Tuesday morning to arrest the former employee.
Following months of extremely detailed investigation, detectives from the Nepean Police Area Command arrested the man and took him to Nowra Police Station where he was charged with nine offences relating to six alleged victims.
The charges include three counts of buggery, five counts of indecently assaulting a male and one count of soliciting a male to commit an indecent act.
He was granted strict conditional police bail and ordered to appear in Nowra Local Court on Wednesday, May 9.
