Mr Dunshea started at council on April 30, replacing former director Craig Milburn.
Mr Dunshea brings extensive experience to the role having held senior management positions at Woollahra Council as Director of Corporate Services, Wagga City Council as director of both Corporate Service and Infrastructure Services, and at Blacktown City Council as the manager of Corporate Finance.
Mayor Findley said his expertise across this broad range of services will bring great benefits to council.
Mr Dunshea said the scope of the role attracted him to apply.
“With my finance and corporate background, this role allows me to bring not only experience, but leadership and best practice into the portfolio as well as provide the opportunity to enhance different service functions in such a beautiful area that has so much to offer,” he said.
“I look forward to progressing further with projects such as the Master plans for the Bay and Basin Hub and the Shoalhaven Community and Recreational precinct and working with the councillors and community to plan for the future needs of the city.
“I am eager to explore opportunities for council to improve its financial position as well as assist in making us more sustainable allowing us to continue to deliver much needed services and facilities across the Shoalhaven region.
“I look forward to getting out and about to meet as many community groups and individuals as possible. I want to ensure the community can put a face to my name and feel that they can contact me to discuss council projects and plans.
“I am excited about the opportunities and challenges ahead.”
