The Greenwell Gardens resident has been knitting since she was a little girl and was taught to knit by her mother.
Dorothy has always loved knitting and has knitted for her two children, three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
However, she still finds time to knit for charity and makes rectangles for Nowra’s only charity-based craft shop, Werninck Cottage.
Jenny Livingstone is a member of Werninck Cottage Club and she joins the knitted rectangles together to make colourful pure wool knee rugs and blankets for the club.
These are sold locally with 100 per cent of money raised going to support local charities.
Donations of eight-ply wool are always needed and always welcome and can be made at Werninck Cottage Craft Shop in Plunkett Street, next to Marriot Park.
