The home, which would have taken in a 11,950 square metre footprint, was approved on June 8, 2017.
It now looks likely Medich will be residing in a much larger dwelling, after he was found guilty of organising the 2009 murder of his business partner Michael McGurk on April 23.
The 1.19-hectare parcel of land next to Gerringong Golf Course, was once the site of Beachlands homestead, which mysteriously burnt down in 2001.

Ron Medich Properties Pty Ltd purchased the property for $2.19 million in 2007, and was later embroiled in a legal dispute between Medich and McGurk.
In 2013, Fairfax Media reported the property was again on the market.
The property featured in hearings conducted by ICAC into allegations of corruption made by McGurk, although ICAC dismissed the claims.
At one point, the NSW government had granted approval for 10 units and a commercial premises on the site. However, that approval lapsed.
