As many of the residents cannot get out to celebrate Anzac Day a service is held at Jonathan Rogers House for them.
The residents enjoy the service and many take active roles in the event.
Ivan ‘Chips’ Gray, Carol Williams and Beryl Whalley were among the residents who had active roles in the service.
The staff do a great job organising what is a special event.
Special guest was Rick Meehan OAM who spoke about finding the grave of possibly the Shoalhaven’s highest decorated World War 1 veteran, Private Raymond Benson, MM (Military Medal), MiD (Mentioned in Despatches) and CC (Corps Complimentary).
The Nowra Town Band played at the service which helped add to the atmosphere.
Jonathan Rogers House has a wonderful memorial and this where the wreath placing ceremony took place.
