The 18-year-old from Sussex Inlet pleaded guilty to robbery in company in Nowra Children's Court.
The court heard he was with another 18-year-old from Sussex Inlet and a 17-year-old from Ulladulla who robbed a man of a Nokia mobile phone on August 25 last year.
Court papers said the resident, who lives near the Kings Point Water Ski Park, was investigating erratic driving in the area around 9.30pm.
Police said the man filmed a number of vehicles in the area on his mobile phone. The three teenagers, who were in one of the cars, took exception to being filmed and, after leaving the location, returned to get the mobile phone and destroy the footage.
The court heard they turned up at the man's house and revved the engine loudly. When the man went to investigate he was allegedly confronted by the trio and knocked to the ground.
He was allegedly kicked while on the ground and sustained a head wound.
A neighbour came to the man's aid and called police. He was taken to Milton Hospital for treatment.
It was discovered his mobile phone was missing.
Police investigations led them to the trio.
Magistrate Sue Duncombe placed the teenager on a nine-month good behaviour bond.
The two other teenagers have also pleaded guilty to the charges and will reappear in court on June 7.
