Supporting Fairfax Media’s FIX IT NOW campaign, the 2012 Eurobodalla Shire Citizen of the Year, said the Princes Highway had not received the attention it needed since the 1980s.
“The Princes Highway is a national highway and it does not provide for the amount of traffic using it now,” he said.
“I would like to see it improved to the standard of the Hume Highway, south of Nowra to the Victorian border, as a divided dual carriageway. You go around corners and what is between you and a car coming the other way? A white line.”
A double amputee as a result of diabetes and kidney disease, Mr Rossiter does not want to see anyone left with a disability after a crash. He also wants betters public transport.
“As a person living in the shire with disability, it is so important the rail line comes over the Shoalhaven River to the Victorian border,” he said.
Mr Rossiter hosts a Eurobodalla Renal Support Group & Organ Donor Awareness group regular event on Fridays at the Bridge Plaza, Batemans Bay.
Find Out Friday runs from 9.30am to 4pm and Mr Rossiter is happy to answer your questions and direct you to the best information.
