Friday was a perfect day for golf and 44 women headed out to the challenge of a 4 bbb vs par event. Jenny Hartman and Deb Weeks came in winners on +8. The next four partners needed a cb, cb, cb to separate them. Trish Dyball and Lois Dwyer prevailed, their +6 won out over Lesley Griffiths and Susan Lenne, to be runners up, and third respectively. The really unlucky ones were Vicky Critcher and Susan Finlay and Gloria Ardouin and Sandra Gonzalez with their equal scores of +6. Congratulations everyone. It was a tightly bunched field at the finish. Robyn Campbell won NTP for Division 3 on the 10 th hole. The division 2 drive and pitch on the 15th was won by Lois Dwyer and the drive and pitch on the 8 th was won by Deb Weeks in division 1.

Next Friday we are welcoming the Vincentia members to our stableford competition and hoping they will swell our numbers on a regular basis.
Some of our stalwarts will be missing for some of the championship rounds so we are hoping that all our newer members turn out in force to help compensate and to demonstrate their talent in this, the biggest event of our year.

WWPSWC
Twelve players contested the "stroke and putts" round for the Autumn Cup at the beautiful Sussex Inlet course on Saturday morning. Conditions were cool, showery and gloomy which no doubt contributed to the poor scores recorded by most. The winner though, with a nett 29 was Kevin Byron. Second was Mike Reddy on 31. Third was Barry Behan with 32. Nearest to the pin on the 5th hole was Ray Handcock, on the 7th, Barry Behan and for the drive and pitch on the 9th, Mike Reddy. The putting competition went to Ray Tomkins with 15 putts. The Mars Bar went to Geoff Kelly (although several players felt they were more deserving of it). Arthur Gunning was the winner of the raffle. Next week's game will be at Vincentia, tee off 8:00am.

Well done also to our own team of Brendan Hughes & Craig McGale who picked up 5th place prizemoney in what turned out to be a very hot field. Well done boys you did our club proud.
Culburra Women
Congratulations to our Grade 4 Pennant team, who have now finished their Pennant season. Our ladies finished the season with a good win over Nowra, and although not in the top placings, did Culburra proud with their mighty effort.
Our Grade 3 ladies have one game left to play, and last week saw two great games against Shoalhaven Heads and St Georges Basin. Although the team went down in both these games, the games were all tight and well played with only a couple of shots in them.
While our Pennant teams have been away, our Social ladies have also been enjoying their games. Well done to last weeks’ winners Maree Guilfoyle, Margaret Gilchrist and June Jones who had a one shot win over Narrelle Wetsteyn, Ruby Salmon and Annette Barry.
The next month is looking quite busy with a number of Championships and District events coming up – make sure everyone checks out all upcoming events and gets their names in.
Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemen Men
Cool, overcast weather made playing conditions ideal for lawn bowls. Wednesday saw 35 players enjoying a cool, overcast afternoon with a zephyr from the South East. Two games of Social Triples and 6 games of Social Pairs were contested. A cool, overcast afternoon with a sprinkling of rain on Saturday saw 9 social players enjoy with 1 game of Mixed Social Triples as well as 1 game of Pairs. The 4’s played Culburra at Culburra while the 6’s were home to St. Georges Basin.
Wednesday 18th April was an overcast, cool afternoon where the fast paced greens were great to play on. Rink 1 Greg Morphett (swinger), Alan Morrissey and Harry Pearce played superb bowls to overcome their opposition 22 to 15 shots. Rink 2 was another Triples game where Matthew Rosina, Bert Watson and Roy Cartledge were just too good for their opposition and thrashed them by 22 shots to 12. Rink 3 saw the first game of Social Pairs with Norm Schultz and Graham Eyre who played outstanding bowls to win by 26 to 21 shots. Rink 4 in one of the closest games of the afternoon, Phill Rimmer and Graham Mills had a magnificent win by only 2 shots, 21/19. Rink 5 held the game of the week. Ian Abberley and Michael Edwards jumped out of the blocks to be leading 4/0 at the end of the third. Tommy Smith and Dooley Gould responded the best way possible to gain 3 shots over the next two ends. Ian and Mick kicked away at 8 to 3 only to see Tommy and Dooley close within a shot at 8/7 on the 10th end. The ends where shared until the 18th and 19th saw Mick and Ian leap out again with 2 terrific 2 shot ends to be leading by 18 to 13 shots. Tommy and Dooley would NOT lie down and responded with a fantastic three to be going into the last end only two shots behind. Could they do it? No, a wonderful one shot win still left them 1 shot shy of Ian Abberley and Michael Edwards who won the game by 18 to 17 shots. Rink 6 in a low scoring game, Darryl Goodger and Eddy Lee emerging as the victors at 20 shots 17. Rink 9 held the next game of Pairs, Bert Madge and John Black played outstanding bowls to annihilate their opposition and win by 25 shots to 15.
