The group left Quart Pot Road heading northward across a creek that shares the same name and followed the Buckenbowra fault line’s volcanic rock, finally emerging into a patch of rainforest.
The creek narrowed considerably and the appearance of solid rock was an omen that they were nearing their goal.
The waterfall is an almost sheer drop of 25 metres with another 10 metres of cascades making the total drop about 45 metres.
The bottom solid rock slopes proved to be an excellent viewing platform as well as a photo opportunity for the group.
The area is not well explored and no record [either verbal or written] of the waterfall’s existence had been found, so walkers christened the falls “No Name Waterfall” in honour of the nearby mountain of that name.
Via a steep, narrow ridge the group descended back down to the valley and retraced their steps.
