First to take the field on Saturday was the Harold Matthews side, who went down 20-8, despite tries from Tyrone Roberts and Brandon Morkos.
During this clash, the side were led by Joshua Coric, Harley Nizza and Cooper Tunbridge (all Albion Park-Oak Flats) and Riley Wooden (Milton-Ulladulla) from Group Seven – leaving the red and white in eighth spot.
The Matt O’Brien and Jono Dallas coached SG Ball didn’t fair any better, going down 42-18.
In the loss, the Steelers’ tries were scored by Tyrone Harding, Jayden Sullivan and Hudson Spicer.
The Steelers, who now sit in seventh position on the ladder, included Group Seven’s Tarje Whitford (Milton-Ulladulla), Dylan Lucas (Albion Park-Oak Flats), Oliver Parrish (Berry-Shoalhaven Heads) and Samuel Hooper (Warilla-Lake South).
In round nine, the final round of the home and away season, both Steelers’ sides play the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks at WIN Stadium.
