The pair unveiled designs in Sanctuary Point on Tuesday afternoon, saying the station had been granted development approval and would undergo a fast-track construction.
The $5 million police station will be located within the retail precinct at Sanctuary.
“The NSW Government is proud to support frontline officers with the very best resources,” Ms Berejiklian said.
“After years of inaction from Labor, the NSW Liberals and Nationals are delivering the vital infrastructure growing communities need. I am very happy to announce this important milestone for the South Coast.”
The new police station at 187-189 Kerry Street will feature:
· A van loading dock, charging facilities and an interview room;
· Modern breath analysis and drug testing facility and equipment;
· CCTV and audio visual links (AVL);
· Modern workspaces for taskforces, detectives and visiting traffic and highway patrol; and
· Secure parking for police vehicles.
Mrs Hancock said she was thrilled construction is due to commence soon.
“This new police station is a vital asset for the local community. This is an important development for the South Coast Police District,” she said.
“This state-of-the-art building will provide police officers and staff with the modern and spacious facilities they need for generations to come.”
