At Jubilee Oval on Saturday, the hosts opened the scoring through Albion Park-Oak Flats product Jayden Morgan in the seventh minute – which was converted by Zachary Lomax.
The Sharks then responded through Teig Wilton before Shaun Sauni-Esau restored the Red V’s advantage in the 20th minute.
The visitors again levelled the scores in the 34th minute, when Isaac Lumelume dived over and Brayden Trindall converted, to make in 12-all with five to go in the first half.
But Kiama’s Tom Angel ensured the Dragons went into the main break with the lead, scoring in the 38th minute, with Lomax again adding the extras.
The score remained unchanged until 13 minutes to play, when the Sharks’ Bronnson Xerri scored.
But Trindall missed the kick, leaving the host with a two-point lead.
The Sharks weren’t done though, scoring with four minutes remaining, through Joshua Carr, to secure the two competition points.
Trindall added the extras to make it 22-18 at full-time.
The Sharks are now 2-0 on the season, while the Dragons sit in sixth with a 1-1 record.
Other Group Seven products in the squad alongside Morgan were Dylan Morris (Kiama), Josh Dowel (Warilla-Lake South), Juvilee Samiu (Kiama), Jayden Morgan (Albion Park-Oak Flats), Tom Angel (Kiama) and Jason Gillard (Nowra-Bomaderry).
The Dragons next play North Sydney at Ron Costello Oval on Saturday from 1pm.
