The program will be run by the Grand Pacific Health Centre Nowra’s Allied Health team, with qualified professionals offering nutrition and exercise information from Thursday, March 8.
GPH dietitian Kate Brumerskyj and exercise physiologist Jessica Bricklebank will run the group every Thursday afternoon from 4-5pm at the Wesley Centre in Berry Street, Nowra.
Throughout the program there will be interactive cooking demonstrations, relevant advice and guided practical exercise at each session.
“Each week we will focus on a different topic, young people can come to one or all of the topics depending on what they are interested in,” Kate said.
“There will be a lucky door prize each week and each session is designed to be lots of fun.”
Topics for the BodyWise program include:
- Week 1- 50: Everyday snack ideas and breakfast on the go.
- Week 2: The 411 on Exercise: The How, Where, When and What.
- Week 3 Holding you up: All about the Muscles and Staying Safe in the Gym (to be held in the Grand Pacific Health Centre – Nowra Studio gym)
- Week 4: Eating out, as well as lunch ideas you’ll get excited about.
- Week 5: $5 Dinners and cooking skill essentials.
- Week 6: Standing Tall: – Helping your confidence with your body, exercise and technology, and exercise without the gym.
