THE two Illawarra South Coast Dragons junior representative side have returned from the opening round of the CRL Country Championships, in Bega, with mixed results.

In the under 16s Dragons team, which included Kiama’s Dane Nelson, William Webb and Ethan O’Connell, Shellharbour’s Cooper Askew, Albion Park-Oak Flats’ Jordan Morn, Logan Stubbs and Liam Lynch and Milton-Ulladulla’s Bailey Tooth, Luke Millard and Jarred Hendrie from Group Seven, defeated the Monaro Colts 20-4.
Try scorers in the win were Joshua Turla, Jordan Wolhar, Liam Lynch and Bailey Tooth, with Jye Patterson landing two conversions.
Unfortunately, the under 18s Dragons, which included Albion Park-Oak Flats’ Jake Brisbane and Sione Lufe and Berry-Shoalhaven Heads’ Oliver and Charlie Parrish from Group Seven, went down 36-10 to Monaro.
In the loss, Mitchell Heffernan and Ayzak Bowman scored four-pointers, with Jake Brisbane adding one conversion.
Both teams will now head to St Marys Leagues Stadium on Saturday, March 3 where they will take on the Penrith Panthers, with under 16s kicking-off at 12pm, before the under 18s at 1.30pm.
