The day was conducted as an open day with a jumping castle for the children to enjoy, face painting, a barbecue and cake stall.
Clinics and displays were held during the day and the region’s young Aussie Hoopers were put through their paces by Aussie Hoops head coach Steve Foster.
The juniors trained with Waratah League coach Ian Ozolins who was assisted by players from all senior Waratah teams.
There was also a walking basketball display to show that just because you may be past your prime there is a way to still participate in a team sport.
Walking basketball is for all abilities and fitness levels.
The day concluded with a game between the new Waratah Youth League team and the senior men and Women's Waratah league teams.
The youth league players showed that they will be a force to be reckoned with in 2018.
Shoalhaven Basketball is keen to introduce new members to the game – from Aussie Hoops through to walking basketball as basketball is everyone's game.
