The group started on February 9 at the Shoalhaven Senior Citizens Centre.
While they’ve started small, those who came joined in enthusiastically and were led by keyboard player and singing guru Julie Emery.
All attendees (with their carers if desired) enjoyed morning tea or coffee, then a selection of songs from Julie’s recently compiled song book.
Participants are asked also to nominate their own favourite songs to be included in the repertoire.
Since the majority of guests were over 60 years old, they went for golden oldies such as A White Sports Coat, Dream a Little Dream of Me, Hello Dolly, He’s Got the Whole World in his Hand – and many more.
As more and more people learn about this happy morning each Friday, organisers are expecting different favourite songs to be requested and made available by Julie – and a rousing time to be had by all.
