Optus Nowra are the jersey sponsor and will have naming rights for the 2018 team series that runs over 12 events.
The Optus team series will feature road races and criterium events where four sponsored teams will challenge throughout the season.
An individual points series will run alongside the team series. Levi Johns has won this award for the last two years.
Team sponsors for 2018 will include the 2017 series winner, Hanlon Windows, along with the leading challenger from the past year, Access Storage.
While the Bomaderry Vet Hospital/Coffeeliscious team continues in 2018, a new team has come on board to replace BaiMed Physio, who have completed three years as a NVC team sponsor.
This new team will be from Allen, Price and Scarrett, the local engineering establishment.
Levi Johns moves from the winning Hanlon Windows team to Access Storage for 2018 with Mark Astley moving from Access to the BVH/Coffeeliscious team.
Allen, Price and Scarrett will be led by Steve Crossman, Aaron Coghlan and Nick Johns. Hanlon Widows have picked up some top performers for 2018 in Troy Whittington, Jade Colligan, Richard Vitiello, Phil Rice and Mark Williams. This team has also added some impressive club newcomers in Jason Spence and Brooklyn Henry.
The Nowra Velo have acquired some new younger riders over the last few weeks and along with Spence and Henry there are Colin Hunt, Isaac Mitchell, Amy Mottram and Josh Henry.
During 2018 the NVC with host an interclub criterium day of racing and will maintain the traditional memorial events, the George Johnson, the Jones and Hartnett memorials. Club championships will be run in four grades with mountain, individual time trial, road race and criterium titles to be decided.
Optus team series racing is scheduled to get under way in February.
Meanwhile, many cyclists will also be getting ready for the Huskisson Triathlon from February 18.
Along with the Ultimate Distance race, the Huskisson triathlon program that includes Sprint & Super Sprint distance triathlons, Ocean Swim, Fun Runs and Mimiman kids’ triathlon.
