The 14-year-old Meadows Swim School athlete finished the championships with three gold medals, a bronze medal and a fourth place.
He claimed gold in the 14s 200m backstroke (2.14.94), 14s 400m freestyle (4.15.35) and 14s 1500m freestyle (16.55.59), with the last event not going exactly how he planned.
“My 1500m was a lot different then what I planned,” Batson said.
“After the first couple of 100ms, the guy in front, who I thought had gone out hard, was maintaining his speed, so I had to change my race plan to catch up to him.”
The Bomaderry High student just missed out on another medal in the 100m freestyle (55.24), finishing fourth, but he finished his meet with a bronze in the 14s 200m freestyle (1.59.34).
Batson credits a lot of his success to his coach Janine Sparks.
