Friday 10th saw 42 players take to the course on what was a perfect day for golf.
We welcomed visitors from Callala and Camden.
Birthday girl Vicki Chivers took NTP for division 3 with an almost perfect shot to the 10 th, almost a very special way to celebrate Vicki.
Yvonne Potts took out NTP for division 2 and our club and district champ. Deb Weeks, won the division 1 NTP.
Some good scores in division 1 saw Judi Nethery win on the cb from Jenny Noden with 39 points.Julie Atlee was next with 38.
In division 2 Fae Lloyd also needed 39 to win with Kerry Coulter on 34 next and Yvonne Potts third with 29.
Division 3 was won by Helen Davison on 35 points with Debbie Glover r/u on34 and Chrissy Black third with 33points.
The last of our season’s major competitions, the Fay Foxton match play is at semi final stage and should be wrapped up in time for our Presentation lunch 30th November.
Andy’s Monday summer competition is in full swing but there is always a place for keen golfers. Our AGM is on 17th November, your opportunity to voice your opinions and make recommendations to the incoming committee.

THE WWPSWC AT THE COUNTRY CLUB
We had 16 players at the Basin on a beautiful sunny morning for strokes and putts for the eclectic.
The winner was Michael Benjamin with 28 net
Second was Kevin Gordon on a countback 28 net
Third was Gus Gillispie with 32 net
Fourth was Cec Ritchie on a countback 32 net
Kevin Byron on a countback 23 net
Putting Competition went to Arthur Gunning on 11. Nearest the pins: on the 10th Barry Glover, on the 13th Alan Thompson
Next week’s game is at Vincentia 8am start. P.S. Christmas Party on the 9th December 12pm
Nowra Men
Nowra Golf Club hosted the bi-annual grudge match between Cronulla and Nowra.
The home team got up, that may not happen so easily back at Cronulla for the return match. Must thank Kel Campbell (Mr. Caltex) for his support and sponsorship.
The comp of the day was a Single Stableford and a visitor in Malcolm Murray from Muirfield was good for the win in ‘A’ with his 38 pts after c/b with Mark McClellan who settled for second spot. Third went to Ben Taylor on 36 pts. Couldn’t get a long drive for ‘A’ grade
Jason Jay still dominates ‘B’ grade with an impressive 44 pts. Neil Dinnie had a go, but had to settle for second with his 42 pts. Kim Andrews was good for third with 40 pts. Long drive to Rob Coulthart.
You had to have 40 pts to get into ‘C’ grade. Paul Ison had the best 40 pts to take first, Tony Kinnear was next best and Tony Hunter made third. Long drive to Andrew Herbert. Balls ran out at 36 pts on c/b.
The NTP’s at the 4th went to Cam Stubbs, the 8th to Peter Foley, Tony Gilmore was good for the 12th and Graeme Wrightson was closest at the 16th.
The Vets played a 4Person Best Ball Split 6 Stableford and the Mountain Men (Janberoo) with their usual ring-in from Links Shell Cove, Charlie Beer raided us to take first with 84 pts. Balls only got to 77 pts on c/b.
The NTP’s at the 4th went to John Pratt, the 8th and Jackpot to Peter Done, a Basinite in Geoff Bray was good for the 12th and that Jamberoo Joker Daryl Campbell was closest at the 16th.
The best in the girls was Pat Austin, Jenny Brown, Ange Boadle and Sue Hunter with 80 pts and ball ran out at 67 pts on c/b. The NTP’s at the 4th went to Ellen Ryan, Jenny Brown at the 8th, Jill Levi was good for the 12th and Gloria Davis was closest at the 16th.
The Wednesday Stableford saw Trevor Kanaar get up with 42 pts. Neil Dinnie continues his form with 41 pts for second and Craig Crump secured third with the best 38 pts. Balls ran out at 34 pts.
The NTP”s at the 4th went to Col. St. John, the 8th to Peter Marynowsky and Graeme Wrightson was good for the 12th. That is it for another one.
Worrigee Links
Last Sunday we played the Holden Scramble at Worrigee Links and a great field of 112 players enjoyed a great day for golf. Our sincere thanks to Nowra City Holden for their continued sponsorship of this very popular event.
The winning team on the day were Brett Bishop, Drago Stih, Chris Witt & Peter Thorpe with 53.12 nett.
The Runners up were Jim Sach, Rob Ray, Kel Turner & Steve Crampton with 54.50 nett. Congratulations to both teams who have qualified for the Regional Finals.
Third place went to Pete Hamilton, Don Hamilton, Al Tonacia & Thom Hines with 54.75 nett.

Last Saturday we played a Single Stableford event & the A Grade winner was Jeremy Hubbard with a great score of 43 points.
Runner up was Andrew Kohler with 42 points & third place went to Col Cattell with 41 points.
The B Grade winner was George Kulscar with 42 points.
Runner up was Greg Fulthorpe with 38 points & third place went to Colin Bridgestock with 37 points.
The C Grade winner was James Reardon with 43 points.
Runner up was Grant Morris with 41 points & third place went to Steve Knox with 40 points.
Pat Collier won the Ladies with 35 points.
Well done to all the novelty event winners, Terry Wynn won the Golden Shot & you needed 37 points or better for a ball.
Last Thursday’s Open Comp was won by Ben Lahene with 46 points, runner up was Damien Mason with 45 points & third place was Martin Hewitt with 40 points.
A big week of golf at Worrigee Links and all enjoying the perfect weather & our golf course is in perfect condition.
This Saturday is a Single Stableford and the following week is the White Ribbon golf day Fourball event. We also have a Holden car up for grabs for a Hole in One. The Jack Elliott Golf Day will be played on Sunday 25th November.
Nowra Women
WOMEN’S MEDAL OF MEDALS
It was a beautiful spring morning on the South coast as 36 early birds took to the course all vying for the title of winner of the Medal of Medals.
Division One winner was Sandra Marshall on a 72 Nett, with Jenny Brown hot on her tail with a 73 Nett. Division Two was won by Shirley Moore with a great score of 73 Nett and runner up was Maree McLean with a 79 Nett. Division Three winner was Anne Newton with a 80 Nett and Janet Priddle was runner up with 81 Nett.
Sandra Marshall was the overall winner and claimed the Medal of Medals for 2017. Congratulations and well done to all participants.
Ball rundown went to 81 Nett and there were 13 places. Nearest to the pin on the 4th hole for their respective divisions were Des Thornett, Barb Howsan and Janet Priddle. On the 12th hole Sandra Marshall, Patricia Austin and Rickie Gilligan. Jill Levi won the 17th Hole Jackpot.
This Thursday 16th November is WGN 18 Hole Stableford. Please check your starting times for the day and come join in all the fun.
Callala Women
A single stableford was played and Wanda Kozinski was welcomed back after a long lay-off. The winner on the day was Barbara Higgs with 37 points.
Once again Robyn Johnson was in the mix with the runner-up prize and 34 points, on a count back. Sue Earle won the drive and pitch sixth and Pat McAndrew was good for the 14th.
Ball rundown: 1. S. Walter (34 points), 2. W. Kozinski (33), M. Rostron (33) and 4. S. Earle (31).

Marlins def Bandits 9 games to 2. Barry Jouannet and Ray Cattermole led the way for Marlins with four finishes. Bradley Moulds and Kevin Flanagan had the high score of 140. Bandits, Shane Pritchard had three finishes and Dave Hogan had the high score of 140.
Fishos def Misfits 7 games to 4. Graham Merz Snr, John West and Norm Maney all had four finishes each for Fishos, Graham and John had the high score of 140. Matt Craig had four finishes, but Eddy Simon was the only one to win his singles. Danny Watson had the high score of 125.
Mohawks def Eagles 7 games to 4. Nathan Simpson had four finishes. Duane Lichtendaul, Pete Smith and Darren Brudenell had the high score of 140. Eagle’s Lucas Gray had four finishes and shared the high score of 140 with Mick Coggins and Peter Vider.

Squaw’s def Exservicemen 7 games to 4. Kristel Kenny and Kelly Hogan had four finishes each and Kelly had the high score of 140. Tim Howe had three finishes and Hank Baxmann had the high score of 140.
Taipans def Devils 7 games to 4. Clancy Orlando and Kaylene Hackett had four finishes each. Kaylene also had the high score of 134. Julieann Maney had three finishes and Kerrie Dempsey had the high score of 124.

Division One
Pirates Defeated Dragons 7-4
For Pirates, Phil Reeves, Peter Wood and Ray Cattermole led the charge with four finishes each and Phil threw the ultimate high score of 180. Well done Phil. Karey deBakker, Deb King and Jo Wood had a finish each. For Dragons, Kaylene Hackett and Georgie Hansen had three finishes and Jeff Brooks had two. These three players also threw the high score of 140.
Division Two
Cherokees Defeated Phoenix 6-5
This was a very close game that went down to the wire. Kay Dowell played well for Cherokees with four finishes and 140. Bill Eales, Barry Jouanet and Gloria Liddicoat had three finishes each and Luke Thompson threw the high score of 135. Matt Craig was Phoenix best player with four finishes and Danny Watson top scored with 125. Tracy Lymbery had three finishes and 125.
Commiserations to Dragons and Phoenix and good luck to the four teams in the Grand final.
