THE Kiama Knights claimed the 2017 Group 7 reserve grade premiership in commanding style, as they out muscled a heavily competitive Gerringong Lions side by 20-4 at Collegians Sporting Complex on Sunday.

On the back of a number of penalties, the Knights got on the front foot through Alex Boles, who crashed over from dummy-half.
Gerringong found it difficult to execute in attack as Kiama were in full control during the first half.
Kiama’s Matt Morris then scored of the back excellent lead up work from Marc Laird on the halfway mark.
Callan Thistlewaite slotted the conversion as Kiama held their 12-nil all the way until half-time.
The Lions fired out of the blocks in the second half as Manning Berry produced an amazing effort on the western touchline, on the back of brilliant cross field kick from Callum Cooper.
The Lions trailed Kiama by 12-4.
Kiama were then rewarded for their excellent defence as Brandon Fittler was assisted by a pin-point accurate cross field kick from Fletcher Atkins before Callan Thistlewaite crashed over on the eastern touchline.
At full-time the Knights ran out winners by 20-4.
Marc Laird, Matt Morris, Tyson Cloos, Callan Thistlethwaite and Lachlan Farrell were the stand outs for Kiama while Jacob Rein, Callum Cooper, Manning Berry and Jordan Chandler were the Lions best.
