Gilmore MP and Shoalhaven Mayor Joanna Gash met with her state counterpart, South Coast MP Shelley Hancock, about the estate last week.
Cr Gash said the matter would be the subject of continuing discussions between the pair as they examined what could be done to ensure anyone thinking of buying land was fully aware planning regulations prohibited residential development on the site.
Cr Gash has also called for a report from council staff about what had been done on the paper estate.
Blocks within the estate were put on the market in recent weeks, prompting fears of problems similar to those experienced with other paper estates including Jerberra and Heritage.
