Nine DanceWorks students qualified to represent their school in the NSW State Australian Teachers of Dancing (ATOD) Scholarships in Sydney over the past three weeks.
The students competed against other top schools from around the state, with both closed dance class with the adjudicator and a public performance.
Dance teacher Amy Evison said they all shone on stage.
“They’re very talented and I’m very proud of these dedicated students,” she said.
The top four students from each category were chosen to represent NSW and their school at the ATOD Australasian Energetiks Scholarships, which will be held in July at NIDA in Sydney.
Arielle Gomez, Chilli Dwyer, Chloe Elder, Denva Dwyer and Olivia Beahan will be going on to compete at the national level next month.
DanceWorks students will be performing their mid-year showcase at the St Georges Basin Country Club on Friday, June 23. Doors will open at 6:30pm. Contact Amy on 0422 595 813 for more information.
