At Goulburn, Kerrianne Allan’s team defeated the Bears 77-63 – keeping them as the only undefeated team in the Waratah League Division One competition.
The Tigers only led 20-17 after the first quarter but stretched the advantage to 10 at the main break, thanks to a Kate Bellamy three-pointer in the dying seconds.
The visitors then withstood a fightback from the hosts, which saw them reduce the lead to just three points midway through the third term. But by three quarter time, the Tigers had steadied the ship and the lead was back out to nine. That’s as close as the Bears got, as the Tigers ran away with the result in the final term thanks to 33 points from Bellamy and 20 from Kate Denyer.
The Tigers next play St George this Saturday at the Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre.
