Figtree jumped the Tigers early, were first to the ball and looked well in control for most of the first quarter. A strong defensive effort and a couple of late goals narrowed the margin with Figtree leading by 15 points after one.
The second term was a fairly even affair and while Figtree looked to have the ascendancy for the most part, a solo effort from Jack Boxsell sparked the Tigers who finished the quarter behind by just 13 points.
The third quarter saw Bomaderry apply more pressure to the Figtree’s ball carriers and with Bomaderry’s tackling and attack on the ball intensifying, the Tiger’s slowly started to get on top – only trialling by one goal going into the last quarter.
The final quarter saw Bomaderry’s midfield take control as the Tigers continued to apply pressure and run the ball into attack and with the defensive unit limiting Figtree to just two points for the quarter, the Tigers finished the game strongly to run out eight point winners.
Final score: Bomaderry 10.8-68 to Figtree 9.6-60
