Rod Kain will take over the team, that only just missed out on finals action in their first season back in the top grade last season.
“Our coach of the last three season’s Greg decided it was time for him to retire,” Kain said.
“As no experienced coach came forward, I stepped in to carry on the good rebuilding of our club Greg had done.
“We had a late start to pre-season due to the club looking for a coach but everyone is now on deck and training well when the weather allows us.”
Kain, along with assistant coach Bob Jansma hope to bring experience and knowledge to the club – with a long career in coaching behind them.
“With people off to University and leaving for work, we’ve had some turnover - losing Rhys and Joel Wilson, who will be hard to replace,” he said.
“Despite that, we will move on and push local players to replace them.”
The squad hope to build on last year’s performance and reach the finals.
“We are one of those teams with no real stars - just a fit hard working unit playing for each other,” Kain said.
“We hope to improve on last season and be more consistent week after week - with the finals series as our goal.”
Squad: Peter Whitmore, Sean Rooney, Zac Self, Ivan Katsua,Nathan Hendry, Brent Anderson, Zane Wilson, Julian Jansma-Smit, John Reeves, Dane Garnon and Zac Ryan.
