The show will be the Travelling Film Festival’s second visit to Ulladulla after the roaring success of its inaugural visit in 2016.
This year’s program of seven films includes six features and one documentary.
Opening night films, The Eagle Huntress and Moonlight, are set to draw cinematic film buffs from far and wide to experience a unique and exciting array of festival quality cinema.
The Eagle Huntress is a family friendly documentary about a 13-year-old girl who trains to become the first female in twelve generations of her Kazakh family to become an eagle hunter.
Moonlight is the winner of the 2017 Golden Globe for Best Drama Motion Picture and was nominated for eight time Oscars. The film is a ground breaking portrait of black gay masculinity in America.
Other international cinematic delights include Cannes FIPRESCI Prize winner Toni Erdmann, an exploration of the complexities of familial relationships between a father, daughter and his alter ego; and romantic comedy Up for Love starring Jean Dujardin known for The Artist.
Also screening at the festival are Sydney Film Festival favourites: Paterson starring Adam Driver (Star Wars: The Force Awakens and GIRLS), a gentle, quietly moving portrait of a bus driver poet and his artistic wife and earned director Jim Jarmusch a nomination for the Palme d’Or at Cannes this year; The Commune, based on acclaimed Danish director Thomas Vinterberg's experience of living in a commune in 1970s Copenhagen; and The Salesman, winners of Cannes Film Festival 2016 awards for Best Actor and Best Screenplay, from Iranian master Asghar Farhadi.
“We are thrilled to be bringing these fantastic of-the-moment films to Ulladulla, and to Shoalhaven audiences, ensuring rural communities have the opportunity to see exciting global cinema on the big screen, in their town,” Travelling Film Festival manager Karina Libbey said.
