“Unfortunately men in general are not real good at asking for help when they are feeling down,” he said.
“Men4Life’s weekly peer support group meetings and reconnect camps give men somewhere to go and talk to other men who have gotten through struggles in the past.
“It also gives men a great opportunity to be heard and listened too, which in turn lets men off load their troubles.”
The next next reconnect camp will be held from Friday April 28 to April 30 at Seagull Lodge, Culburra Beach.
“The M4L reconnect camps gives men in the Shoalhaven an opportunity to get away for the weekend and be around support workers and men who have experienced various hard times and challenges within their lives,” Mr Simister said.
“This enables men to be heard and listened too, while interacting in group work shops and activities over the weekend.
“This is our fourth camp at the Seagull Lodge and last year's reconnect camp was a huge success with over 40 men attending over the weekend.
“Men4Life would like to invite all men who are feeling stressed and in need of support or just feeling the need to get away for the weekend.”
All accommodation and meals over the weekend come at no cost for all participants. There will be plenty of activities and entertainment with a few surprises.
“So act quick and get in contact with the Men4Life support group, as there only 40 spots up for grabs,” Mr Simister said.
“We would also be most grateful for any donations of food or money to help with our cause to support men in the Shoalhaven, who are in need of support.”
