Cricket was back in the Shoalhaven over the weekend, however our first and third grade enjoyed an extended break with the bye.
Meanwhile second and fourth grade Tigers made strong starts in their two-day matches.
The Bomaderry Post Office Tigers second grade side were hosting Batemans Bay at the Den, where Dan Roth won the toss and batted.
The Tigers had a horror start, falling to be 3/6, before Justin Ganderton (30) and Greg Wellington (25) steadied the ship.
However Matt Bell was the star with the bat, making a well crafted 50 before the team was bowled out for 150.
The Tigers have had a strong start with the ball, having The Bay at 3/30 in response.
Wickets were shared between Gareth Hopwood, Matt Bell and Ben Minnis.
The Kiteley's Roofing fourth grade Tigers side also had a competitive first day back at Bomaderry Sporting Complex against Ulladulla United Golds.
The Tigers were bowled out at the end of the day for 174, courtesy of another captain’s knock by Dougy Abbott at the top of the order (37).
He found support from Nick Kuncio (26) and Terry Whelan (26), in setting up a score that looks to be defendable, when play resumes on day two.
For friends of the Tigers, please save the date for our inaugural "Grazza Cup" function the club will be running on February 11 at Artie Smith clubhouse.
The night is held in the name of club legend Graeme Sawkins.
The night, which will kick-off at 7.30pm, will cost $5 on the door, which will include supper and is themed op-shop suit.
Official invites will be out to club members and sponsors in coming weeks.
